English Reading Tip #1: Post-Reading Activities
“It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings” is a popular English idiom. It means that even though something seems like it might be finished, it actually isn’t. You might read a magazine or newspaper article, or an English novel and when you finish the last word, think you’re done. If you do this, you won’t get as much as you can out of the experience.
One of the best ways to improve your English reading skills is to use pre, and post-reading activities. Check out this short article for some ideas of things you can do after you’re done reading a novel.

When you’re reading, if you have to keep using your dictionary every five seconds, you’ll get annoyed and give up. If you use context clues, you can keep reading. It takes a bit of practice, but you can do it!
Don’t worry-it’s easier than you might think. It just takes a bit of common sense. Do you have some? Awesome! You can use context clues. Just think of the words you know to guess what you don’t.
