Life After ESL: Foreign Teachers Returning Home is hot off the press after a summer of working away in my office, alone, writing when everyone else was taking exotic vacations all around Asia! I myself am heading back to Canada in a few months after teaching in Korea for 10 years and I feel slightly terrified about it. In order to not feel so stressed out, I decided to write a book about the process so I could be as prepared as possible.
In order to write the book, I surveyed 55 old friends and random Internet strangers in order to find out about their experiences, tips they could offer as well as what they were doing for work. When analyzing the results, I noticed that they were basically all giving the same advice and also had similar kinds of jobs so this book covers those 13 trends that I noticed, as well as 6 job options to consider for ESL teachers returning home, plus a whole bunch of other good stuff like in-demand jobs, by country, in 2020.
If you like to try before you buy, here are 2 articles I wrote based on the survey data. The book is similar, just way more detailed, informative and awesome!
